Scope of this notice

This notice applies to information received through pages maintained on the AMTA Oregon website and to direct chapter communications initiated from those pages. It does not control information collected directly by National AMTA, government agencies, event-registration providers, email platforms, social networks, venues, vendors, or other linked services.

If a page, form, or button takes you to another domain, review the privacy notice on that service before providing information.

Information the chapter may receive

Information you choose to provide

Depending on how you contact or participate with the chapter, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, AMTA membership context, professional role or interests, event or volunteer preferences, accessibility needs you choose to share, and the content of your message.

If a future chapter form requests additional information, the form should explain what is needed. Please do not send confidential client information, health records, passwords, government identification numbers, full payment-card information, or sensitive personal documents through a general website form or chapter email.

Technical information

Web hosting and security systems may automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested page, approximate location derived from network information, timestamps, and server or error logs. The precise information depends on Webflow and any connected service in use at the time.

How information may be used

AMTA Oregon may use information when reasonably necessary to:

• respond to questions, requests, corrections, or accessibility concerns;
• administer chapter events, education, outreach, committees, governance, volunteering, or member communications;
• send chapter news or notices you requested, with an unsubscribe option when appropriate;
• maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
• understand broad interest in chapter programs without using more information than reasonably needed;
• keep organizational records and document chapter decisions or transactions; and
• meet applicable legal, safety, governance, accounting, or AMTA organizational responsibilities.

The chapter should not use information for a materially different purpose without an appropriate reason, notice, or consent.

When information may be shared

Information may be available to chapter officers, board members, committee leaders, volunteers, or contractors who need it for an authorized chapter purpose. Access should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the work.

The chapter may also use service providers for website hosting, email, forms, file storage, event registration, meeting administration, communications, or other operations. Those providers process information under their own agreements and privacy practices.

Information may be shared with National AMTA when needed to route a membership or association question, coordinate chapter administration, or satisfy organizational requirements. The chapter may also preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or address an emergency.

AMTA Oregon does not use this chapter website as a marketplace for selling visitor contact information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Webflow and connected services may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to deliver pages, remember preferences, protect forms, balance traffic, prevent abuse, and support essential site functions. Outside services opened from this site may use their own cookies.

National AMTA and outside services

The chapter website links to services that AMTA Oregon does not control. This commonly includes National AMTA membership and login pages, official licensing and government resources, event-registration systems, email subscription tools, venues, social media, and other professional resources.

How long information is kept

AMTA Oregon may retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for chapter continuity and recordkeeping, or to satisfy legal, financial, insurance, governance, dispute, or AMTA organizational requirements. Different records may require different retention periods.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, the chapter should delete it, de-identify it, or allow an authorized service provider’s retention process to remove it, unless continued retention is required or appropriate.

Your choices and requests

You may choose not to provide optional information, although that can limit the chapter’s ability to respond or provide a requested activity. Marketing or newsletter emails should include an unsubscribe method. Operational messages connected with an event, request, or chapter responsibility may still be sent when needed.

You may contact the chapter to ask what interaction or record your question concerns, request a reasonable correction, or ask whether information can be deleted. AMTA Oregon may need to verify the request and may retain records when deletion would conflict with an organizational or legal responsibility. National AMTA account and membership requests must be directed to National AMTA.

Security and children

AMTA Oregon uses established website and service platforms and seeks to limit access to people with a chapter-related need. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Use care when deciding what to send online, and notify the chapter if you believe information associated with this website was misdirected or exposed.

This chapter website is intended for massage therapy professionals, students, partners, and interested adults. It is not directed to children under 18, and the chapter does not knowingly seek personal information from children through this site. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact the chapter so the situation can be reviewed.

Policy updates and contact

AMTA Oregon may revise this notice as the website, chapter activity, technology, or applicable requirements change. The updated date at the beginning identifies the current posted version.
