Please read these terms before using this website. By accessing or using the AMTA Oregon website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

This website is operated for the Oregon Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. These chapter terms supplement, but do not replace, policies that apply when you use National AMTA websites, membership accounts, payment systems, event platforms, directories, or other services.

Acceptance and scope

These terms apply to pages and content maintained for AMTA Oregon on this website. They do not create a membership agreement, employment relationship, professional-client relationship, or promise of a particular chapter service or benefit.

National AMTA membership, insurance, account access, purchases, directories, and national programs may be subject to separate terms. When a link sends you to another website or service, the terms shown by that service control your use of it.

AMTA Oregon and National AMTA

AMTA Oregon is a volunteer-led state chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. The chapter communicates local education, advocacy, governance, volunteer, and community information. National AMTA separately administers national membership and many member services.

Questions about a national account, membership payment, insurance benefit, national directory, or national transaction should be directed to National AMTA through the contact information provided on amtamassage.org.

Informational content—not professional advice

AMTA Oregon provides this website for general educational and informational purposes. Content may discuss massage therapy, professional practice, continuing education, legislation, regulation, licensing, health, business, or community resources. It is not medical, legal, tax, financial, licensing, or other professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional or an official agency.

Rules, deadlines, events, presenters, pricing, and linked resources can change. Before relying on time-sensitive information, confirm it with the organization, regulator, instructor, venue, or service responsible for it.

Acceptable use

You may use this site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, accounts, systems, or data;
  • interfere with the site’s operation or another person’s use of it;
  • introduce malicious code, automated abuse, scraping that burdens the site, or deceptive traffic;
  • impersonate another person or organization, or submit materially false information;
  • use site content to harass, defame, threaten, discriminate against, or violate the rights of others; or
  • use the site in a way that violates applicable law or professional obligations.

AMTA Oregon may restrict access, remove submissions, or refer conduct to the appropriate organization or authority when reasonably necessary to protect the site, the chapter, its members, or the public.

Copyright, trademarks, and permitted use

Unless otherwise noted, site content—including text, graphics, chapter materials, page design, and downloadable resources—is owned by AMTA, AMTA Oregon, or a credited third party, or is used with permission. AMTA names, logos, and marks may not be used in a way that suggests authorization, endorsement, or affiliation that has not been granted.

You may view, download, or print site material for your personal, noncommercial professional use when the material is not altered and attribution or copyright notices remain intact. Republishing, selling, modifying, distributing, or using substantial portions of the site for another commercial purpose requires permission from the applicable rights holder.

External links, registration, and third-party services

Links to National AMTA, government agencies, event registration, venues, instructors, social networks, vendors, sponsors, or other third parties are provided for convenience and context. A link does not necessarily mean AMTA Oregon endorses every statement, product, or practice on that site.

AMTA Oregon does not control outside services and is not responsible for their availability, security, accessibility, content, prices, transactions, privacy practices, or terms. Review the terms and privacy policy presented by the outside service before providing information or making a purchase.

Event details may be changed, postponed, or canceled when circumstances require. Registration, refund, transfer, attendance, conduct, and continuing-education conditions shown for a specific event control that event.

Communications and submissions

If you send a message, volunteer inquiry, event question, correction, or other submission, you represent that you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit confidential client information, health records, passwords, full payment-card information, or material you are not authorized to share.

AMTA Oregon may use a submission as reasonably necessary to respond, administer chapter activity, correct the website, evaluate a proposal, or meet organizational and legal responsibilities. Public use of a member story, testimonial, photograph, or substantial creative contribution should be based on appropriate permission.

Site availability, warranties, and limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided on an “as available” basis. AMTA Oregon works to keep information useful and the site functioning, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every page will always be complete, current, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AMTA Oregon and those supporting the chapter are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on this website or a linked third-party service. Nothing on this page limits a right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

The AMTA Oregon Privacy Notice explains how information may be received and handled through this chapter website. National AMTA and outside services maintain their own privacy policies.

Changes, interpretation, and contact

AMTA Oregon may revise these terms when the website, chapter activity, technology, or applicable requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current posted version. Continued use after an update means the new terms apply to later use of the site.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions should continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted. These terms are interpreted under applicable United States and Oregon law without creating an exclusive venue provision.
